Residential energy storage lithium batteries can be categorized by low-voltage home batteries and high-voltage home batteries according to the different connection methods in the circuit. The high voltage and low voltage do not refer to the numerical value of the voltage of the two but to the circuit connection method of the battery in the entire system. What is a high-voltage residential energy storage lithium battery? It generally refers to an energy storage lithium battery that achieves high-voltage DC output of the system by connecting multiple groups of batteries in series. Its operating voltage is about 400-600V, and it has the characteristics of fast charging and discharging. Because it can achieve fast power transmission and optimal performance, it is widely favored by companies and families with huge energy needs. Its advantage is mainly reflected in the aspects below.

1. Higher energy density. High-voltage batteries store more energy at faster charge and discharge rates, which means that high-voltage batteries are smaller, lighter, and require less space than low-voltage batteries of the same capacity.

2. Longer service life. The high-voltage battery system has a lower current and less heat loss during use, further extending its service life.

3. Higher conversion efficiency. High-voltage battery systems have higher conversion efficiency than low-voltage systems. This is mainly because high-voltage battery systems are closer to the PV DC side bus voltage.

4. Simplified system design. The high-voltage hybrid inverter has a simpler circuit topology, smaller size, lighter weight, and more reliability than the low-voltage hybrid inverter, which makes the overall high-voltage solution design easier.

5. The overall solution has a higher ROI. The high-voltage energy storage system stands out with its charging and discharging efficiency of up to 98%, which means that the high-voltage system can effectively reduce energy loss during the charging and discharging process and improve overall economic benefits.

 

At this year's EES Europe and the US RE+ Show, Topband unveiled two types of high-voltage home storage batteries: rack-mounted and stacked. These two forms of products have their characteristics and are suitable for different application scenarios and needs. If flexible configuration and frequent adjustment of capacity and voltage are required, the stacked type of battery is an ideal choice.
