If the lithium battery is not charged for a long time, the lithium ions will gradually stay at the positive or negative electrode, causing the chemical reactions inside the battery to gradually weaken. In this way, the capacity of lithium batteries will gradually decrease, and the battery's usage time will also be correspondingly shortened.


However, it should be noted that modern lithium batteries are usually equipped with protective circuits that can automatically cut off current output when the battery level is too low to protect the battery from further damage. So, if you have a lithium battery that has not been used for a long time, there is no need to worry too much that it will immediately break down due to not charging.


In addition, lithium batteries also need to pay attention to storage conditions when not in use for a long time. The optimal storage temperature is between minus 20 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, while avoiding temperatures that are too high or too low. In addition, storage in high temperature environments should be avoided as much as possible to avoid damaging battery performance.
