What are the application scenarios for industrial and commercial energy storage?

The main application scenarios of industrial and commercial energy storage can be divided into three categories, namely separately configured energy storage, integrated optical storage and charging, microgrid, etc.


1. Separate configuration

There are two main considerations for energy storage industrial and commercial users to configure energy storage separately: first, to save electricity costs for enterprises through peak shaving and valley filling. For example, the peak electricity price is 1 yuan per kilowatt hour, while the low valley electricity price is 0.3 yuan per kilowatt hour. Industrial and commercial users can charge the energy storage during the low valley period and then use the energy storage for power supply during the peak period. Therefore, the electricity cost for enterprises during the peak period is 0.3 yuan per kilowatt hour, instead of the original 1 yuan per kilowatt hour, saving about 0.7 yuan per kilowatt hour. Secondly, use energy storage as a backup power source for unexpected needs。


2. Integrated optical storage and charging

Integrated photovoltaic energy storage and charging refers to the integration of photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, and charging piles to achieve efficient energy utilization and convenient charging. The application of energy storage enables user side spontaneous self use, improves the spontaneous self use rate of distributed photovoltaics, and can also alleviate the impact of high current charging on regional power grids.


3. Microgrid

Microgrids are localized small-scale power generation and distribution systems with their own power generation capabilities. Usually, it is mainly based on distributed power sources, utilizing energy storage and control devices for real-time regulation to achieve power balance within the network. It can operate independently of the main network and also collaborate with the main network. For microgrids operating independently of the main grid, energy storage can smoothly generate new energy and serve as backup power. For grid connected microgrids, energy storage can achieve energy optimization and energy conservation and emission reduction.
