When it comes to the photovoltaic energy storage market, it is usually divided into three areas: ground energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, and household energy storage. The three markets differ in terms of product volume, cost, and application scenarios. In the current Chinese market, due to the introduction of electricity pricing policies in various regions, which widen the peak valley electricity price difference, the payback period of energy storage systems has been greatly shortened compared to before in the existing electricity pricing policies, and the theory is relatively objective. Therefore, the development of the domestic industrial and commercial energy storage market is rapid.


When combined with different application scenarios, the attributes of industrial and commercial energy storage will also vary, with different profit models. Next, we will introduce from three aspects: small factories, shopping malls, optical storage charging stations, and microgrid+energy storage.


Microgrid+energy storage

As the development direction of the future power grid, microgrids can operate both on and off the grid, increasing the flexibility and reliability of power supply. At present, the majority of microgrid projects are industrial park microgrids, island microgrids, and remote area microgrids. In microgrid scenarios, there are usually multiple energy supplies such as photovoltaics, diesel generators, and wind turbines. As an intermediate coordination, energy storage requires a stable balance between power supply and load demand.


Island microgrids or remote area microgrids, due to their lack or instability of power supply, can achieve stable new energy generation and backup functions by configuring energy storage. This application scenario is more common overseas, especially in South Africa, Southeast Asia, and other regions.


Industrial park microgrids typically use a certain industrial park as a node to achieve energy optimization, energy conservation, and emission reduction within the node. Increase the proportion of green electricity consumption, optimize the energy cost of the park, and meet the assessment indicators for carbon emissions. The number of such scenes is increasing rapidly worldwide.
